At tho .annual meeting of tho South Island Dairy Association, held to-day, the following resolution v.'a 3 carried unanimously:—"That tho executive of the South Island Dairy Association bo authorised to co-operate with the National Dairy Association in negotiating ariangements in conjunction with the C-o-operativo Wholesale Society, London, fdr the marketing' of our produce." NEW SUGAR CONTRACT. The terms of the agreement made by the New Zealand Government with the Colonial Sugar Company for the purchase of the Fiji crop of sugar for tlie next year fchould be announced shortly, probably before the end of 'this month, when the old agreement rur.fi out. With the. announcement of details of tho contract will probably bo made the further announcement of the prices to be charged for sugar in this- country. It is a foregone conclusion (says tho Wellington "Post") that the prico of sugar will riso considerably, but from the speeches of Minis fers recently New Zealand ehould expect that tho agreement concluded has been a highly-favour?.bkj one to this country.
