CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
The fortnightly social of tho Canterbury Caledonian Society, held last night, and presided over by Mr C. S. Thomas, wa3 largely attended, and the programme submitted, for which Messrs B. Mooro and W. Edginton were responsible, was' varied and interesting. Songs were given by Miss Ponsford, Miss Dulcie Philpott, Miss Dukbury, Mrs W. Robinson, Messrs D. McGill and A. Gunn; a vocal duet, was contributed by Messrs Werrin and "Winspear; Highland dances were given by Miss Violet Kobertson and Miss Dorothy Caldow, and a sailor's hornpipe was danced by Mr Les'ie Edginton; recitations were given by Miss Stella Chapman, and Mr T. Adnams; a violin solo was given by Mr A. Morgan, and Mr G. Dickie gave a ventriloquial item. A reel was da-nced by Mis-ses Robertson aLnd Seymour, and Me.°3rs L. Taylor arid J. Eraser. Tlie Pipe Band pi ay o-d selections dxiring the evening. Mr Bert Willyams played tlie accompaniments for the vocalists.
