A sub-committee of the Labour Triple Alliance passed a resolution that! th> position mentioned in a letter from; the National Union of Railwaymen in regard to Ireland warrants consideration of the problem by the whole of the organised trade union movement of Great Britain. j The matter, therefore, shall be re-! ferred to tho Parliamentary Commit- : tee,_ with an urgent request that \ special trade union congress shall be convened at an early date, bo that tho. attitude of British Labour townrcis the ! production and handling of munitions of war for Ireland and Poland may be determined. i The letter mentioned refers to the consideration by the executive of the National Cmon -of Rni wyvnen of the i refusal of the Irish members to handle military stores, and the executive's decision on May 27th to refer the matter to the Triple Alliance. j
FEELING IN AMERICA. . "WASHINGTON, June 1. J>uring tho debate in the Senate on the Armenian mandate, which had been submitted to it_ by President Wilson, women sympathisers with the Irish created a scene _in the galleries, the hecklers demanding: the expulsion of tho English from Ireland. Ushers removed a dozen women, excitedly struggling and shouting. Tho proceedings were suspended until the ejections had been completed.
