FAIaL INTO HARBOUK Shortly after 6 o'clock on Saturday evening a man, believed to be Charles Peterson, a greaser in. the Canopus, fell into the harbour at tbo corner of Ko. -I tvharf and the breastwork. His calls for help were heard by H. Morris, a seaman, in tb© Wakatu, and another mail named Johnson, an employee of the Union Steam Ship Company. With tbo aid of a heaving lino they were able to pull Peterson up on to the wharf. Peterson ! was suffering from bruise* on the head, ancl v.-. t 3 in a state of complete collapse owing to the coldneee of the water. He was admitted to the casualty ward for medical I attention.

The- cupboard was destroyed and part of the mantel-shelf was charred. The total damage is estimated afc about £5.
