FATHER O'DONNELL.

In tho Houso. of Commons, Mr Winston Churchill, Minister of War, gave details of Father O'Donnell's arrest and trial, lie declared that the action of the military authorities was strictly in accordance with tho King's Regulations throughout. On being told last week tha.t Father O'Donnollj formerly of Tasmania, had been acouitted by court-mart;nl in London of tne chargcs of using disloyal laniniage while recently in Ireland, Mr Hughes, Prime Minister of Australia, said: "I am vciy pleased indeed to hear of this. Father O'Donnell is a man in whom I had full faith. I know what a. sterling fighter for Australia lie has always been—how stalwartlv he bore himself in the face of opposition by ecclesiastical superiors in tnn struggle to secure reinforcements and peace with victory. I never believed that a man with •uch a fine record would bo iruilty of the offcnco charged against him."
