SIR WILLIAM FRASER.
A KAIKOITRA TRIBUTE
At the meeting of the Kaikoura County Council on Friday, Cr. Renner moved: — "That lliis Council regrets that tho Dominion is shortly to lose tlio raluabl ) services of Sir AVilliam Fraser as a Minister of the Crown, and a member of Parliament, and expresses warm appreciation of his efforts to promote tho general interests of the* whole community in every direction within his sphere of iniluenco, wishes him lengthened days with a full measuro of happiness, and trusts that he he spared to participate in tho ceromony of celebrating tho completion of through railway communication between Bluff and Picton." Cr. Renner stated that they had never had a Minister of the Crown who was more anxious to carry out what ho considered was right and proper. Cr. Bnyd seconded the motion, and endorsed the remarks of tho mover. Cr. Monk rtl c n expressed his appreciation of the Minister's work, statinc: that he had treated Kaikoura well, nnd had dono all in his pewor to carry out tho pledges given to tho district. Tlie motion wes carried unanimously.
