A s]>ecial meeting of the members ol tlio Canterbury F.niployer,' Association was hold Inst r.i;;ht for tl:c purpose of discussing tlio following resolution, adopted at tho annual mooting ol" tii>* New Zealand Employers' Federation, and forwarded for the consideration ol members of the Association: —

"In the opinion of this Federation the time has new arrived when tl.o employers of this Dominion must recoi,nix> that a new order of reiaiionsnip between individual eiuplojcts and t'ncir workers must ho established, and to this end it is ndvis.ihle that each centre elect rcproFcntativc:; to constitute a committee to elaborate a scheme which will have -for its object the promot ion of industiinl peace in this Dominion, i his Committee" to report to a special meeting of tho Federation within; six months." There was a representative attendance of members, Mr \\. CJoss, the president of the Association, being in th.e chair. The Federation's resolution was freely discussed in committee, and quite rt number of examples of welfare work were mentioned. Tho proposal contained in tho resolution was sympathetically received, a larfe proportion of thoso present hnvinjr faith in the possibilities of Rood arising out of tho scheme, whilst others were not so very optimistic. Tt was decided to endorse the resolution which was formally adnpted.

The followinc were appointed representatives on. the Committee to meet in "Wellinpton ; —AV. (locs. J. A Frostiek, O. T. R-olb, F. H. Vvles, \V. Merler, G. 31. Hall, J. A. nlack, and F. deeper.
