FLAXMILL WORKERS' DISPUTE

CFBESS ASSOCIATION' - TELEGRAM.) PALMERSTON NORTH, June 10. A deadlock has been reached in connexion with the negotiations between the New Zealand Flaxmillers' Association and the Manawatu Flaxmill Workers' Union, relative to the new agreement governing the wages of flaxmill workers. A conferencd was mutually decided upon, but at the last moment the parties were unable to get together on account of the union naming as one of its delegates a man whose - name appears on tlio gazetted list as a military defaulter. The employers aßked the union to appoint another man in his place, otherwise they would not meet them, but the union refused to accede to the request. The employers are equally firm, and there the matter stands.
