THE LATE RT. HON. R. J. SEDDON.
TRIBUTES OF RESPECT TO HIS MEMORY. (press association telegram.) "WELLINGTON, Juno 10. "To perpetuate the memory of the late Right Hon. R. J. Seddon. Imperialist and patriot, as a token from Young New Zealanders. June 10th, 1919." This inscription, attached to a largo laurel wreath, was placed on Mr Seddon's statue in Parliament Grounds this morning, as a tribute of respect to the memory of Liberal leader. It has been tho custom of Young New Zealanders whose parents were closely associated with the late Mr Seddon to celebrate each anniversary of his death by a "ceremony of reverence," and on this occasion—the thirteenth anniversary— tho Hon. W. D. S. MacDtmald, Minister of Agriculture, officiated. Tho family was well represented, while there was a large attendance of friends. Following this ceremony, the assemblage proceeded to the Sydney street Cometory, where a cross of white roses and violets and other floral tributes wore placed on the vault, which was opened for the occasion. Tho following cable message has been sent to Mr s Seddon, care of the High Commissioner, London :—"Our hearts go out to you and your s this day.— Seddon Memorial Day Committee."
