THE STRANDED KOWHAI
« ATTEMPT TO GET OFF TO-DAY. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TET/EGRAM.) WELLINGTON, June 10. The latest news concerning the Union S.S. Co.'s steamer Ivowhai, which is stranded off Farewell Spit, is to the effect that she will attempt to get off the sand with her own engines tomorrow morning. If the attempt is unsuccessful, the tug Terawhiti will give assistance in the afternoon. The Terawhiti is sheltering at Tutaeranui to-night.
