Senator Pearce emphasis the value of the interchange o' visits between British and oversea members of Parliament, the. good results of which had been abundantly shown dujing the war.
Ex-Senator Humbert was acquitted at Paris on a chargo of trafficking with tho enemy in connexion with the purchase of tho newspaper "Le Journal'' in 1915. He acquirod a controlling interest in it with money supplied by Lo Noir, who was arrested on a charge of having obtained funds from Germany. It was alleged that Humbert accepted over £200,000 from 8010 Pasha to pay out Le Noir. The latter was convicted and sentenced to death.
A Paris messase says that drainage of the lake in which Landru is alleged to have disposed of one of his victims lias been found unexpectedly difficult, and pumping is necessary. The police have begun to remove the cellar floors at Landru's villa, where the smell of decomposing flesh has become evi-. dent. An acau:ijntance describes Landru as a model child, but when as a youth he was convicted of fraud his father committed suicide, being broken-hearted at the family's disgrace.
