MEETING OF EXECUTIVE,
The first meeting of the newly-ap-pointed executive of the Chriatehureh Branch of the Returned Soldiers' Association was held last evening, Mr N.OB. McCallum presiding. No fewer than 240 new members were elected, these having joined during the past week. Messrs E. Orchard, I. Campbell, and L. Cheeseman were appointed to represent the executive on the club'e Entertainment Committee.
Tho appointments of a vice-president and delegates to the'forthcoming Dominion conference were held over till the next meeting. It was decided that the returned soldiers should take part in. the peace celebrations, and that they should parade in mufti, wearing the Association's badge. It was reported that the Peaco Celebrations Committee would supply banners for the parade, bearing the inscriptions of the most noteworthy actions in which the New Zcalanders were engaged during the war. -■ Several matters in regard to the reissue of badgeß, the building fund campaign, and finance wore dealt with. It was decided that the Returned Soldiers' Association flhould provide a guard of honour on the occasion of the arrival of Major-Gencral Sir A. H. Russell, and the secretary, Mr W. E. Leadley, said that he would be pleased to receive the names of any returned men willing to act on that guard. It was also decided that a retnrqgd officer should take charge on the occasion.
