THE LEADING FARM SALESMEN.
■ ♦ H. H. COOK AND CO.. CASHEL STREET.
In a country like this, where-primary products are of such great importance, no article on its industries would bo complete without mention of the leading firm of farm salesmen—tho men whose industry it is to provide farms suitable to the individual requirements of each member of their large circle of clients. Wo refer to the firm of Messrs H. H. Cook and Co., Ca.sb.el street, Christchurch, and 220 Lambtou quay, "Wellington. Some ten years have passed since the inception of this firm, nnd from tho fact that during that time they have effected sales of property, running into over eight million pound's sterling it can bo readily seen that their integrity and- business methods are of the highest order. The largest single sale effected during this period amounted to £96,000 while several ranged between £50,000 and £60,000. These figures are quite autheptic. n, "Press" reporter having personally inspected the documents connected with the sales.
If it were possible to point out one factor responsible more than another for the success this firm onjovs, it would be the fact that only practical farm men arc engaged in its operation. It stands-to reason that a practical farmer is better ablo to estimate the value of land, the best purpose for which it could be used, and its suitability to a client's requirements, than land agents whose knowledge of farms is only gained from ledger's and office talk. Messrs H. H. Cook and Co. personally farm over £60,00.0 worth of land, and as they personally inspect every property they offer for'sale, they are able to direct their clients' attention to property of real interest to them, thus saving both their clients' time and their own. Of course if they should not have the property suitable to a purchaser's requirements." thev do not hesitate to eay so; but with a firm who havo over two thousand properties entrusted to them for sale or exchange it rarely happens that the one required is not available.
Messrs H. H. Cook and Co. also undertake the management of properties during the absence of owners—two of the largest stations in the South Island being at present under their management until the owners arrive.
Whether it be a large sheep station, a. mixed farm, or a .small dairy farm, that is required by a prospective purchaser, ho will be -well advised to put his proposition before H. H.Cook and Co. Thev are in a position to help him secure the property wanted—«nd if he needs financial help they will help him.
