RED CROSS WORK IN ITALY.

MR A. E. MOORE'S SPLENDID RECORD. (special to "the press.") K AUCKLAND, April 24. Voluntary' service as a Rod Cross worker in Italy was performed by Mr A. E. Moore, manager of the Ghristcliurch Branch of the Yorkshire Insurance Company, who arrived by the j lonic to-day. The fighting was waged at a height of 4000 feet, and the dillicuity of manipulating; tho cars under such circumstances, and particularly in view of tho fact that tho ico was feet thick, and chains and spikes had to bo attached to tho wheels was a very great one. Mr Monro was at Caporetto at the time of the d-baole in October, 1917. ITie British tinops saved tho situation. Their quick arrival, smartness, and brilliancy, put new heart into the Italian soldiers.
