CONC7IRT AT SUMNER. A concert waa held at Sumner on Friday night, in aid of the Sumner School Prize Fund. The Town Hall was packed to the doors. The programme, arranged by Mrs D. Bates, consisted of items by Mesdames G. March, Lee, Miss I. McDowel, Captain T. Charters, and Eileen Thomas, Mary Morrison, Alva Cadle, Kathleen Thomas, the infants, Standard 1 and 2 children, and_ the boya from i Standards 5 and 6, and consisted of vocal, instrumental, and elocutionary items, action songs, and Swedish drill. During the interval a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to all who had ossisted to make the function a sucoese.

ADDINGTON BURGESSES' ASSOCIATION.

At a meeting of the Addington Burgesses' Association Mr IL Jackson - presided over a good attendance. After discussion, it was decided to again write to the Tramway Board pointing out the bad state of the track on Lincoln road; also that a copy oi the letter be eent to Mr Sykes, the member on the Board for the district. Reference was made to certain properties in the district, and it was decided to ask tho City Council to inspect them, and to obtain a police report on them. It was also decided to ask the City Council to alter the position of the lamp at the corner of Park road, and Church equare, so as to throw a light along Park road. It was decided to hoJd the annual meeting next month.
