The Supreme Court sustained the conviction of Eugene Debs, four times Socialist candidate vfor the Presidency, on a charge of inciting to sedition and. disloyal speeches. Tho sentence of ten years imprisonment was confirmed. The Solicitor-General, giving evidenco before the Senate Propaganda Committee, stated that the 1.W.W., Bolshevists, and Anarchists were perfecting an amalgamation of forces in the United States with the object of overthrowing the Government by means of bloody revolution, and replacing it by a- Bolshevist republic. Propaganda on a tremendous scale was continuing.
