MAGISTRATE'S COURT. Before Messrs W. T. Lester and F. G. Norton, J.P.'a, at tha Lyttelton Magistrate's Court on Saturday, a first offender for drunkenness was convicted and fined ss, with the. usual alternative. THE PICTURES. A sensational film, "The Princes of Park Row," which went astray during the epidemic period, • came to hand, and was screened at Saturday's sessions in th® Harbour Light Picture Theatre, instead of the Metro picture "Daybreak," as previously announced. Another episode of the • serial film, "The Neglected Wife," was also presented. The drama, "Daybreak," starring Emily Stevens, will be 6hown to-morrow ana Wednesday._ Among the supports is the opening episode of the thrilling new floating serial, ''The Scarlet Runner," featuring Earle Williams. SEAMEN'S INSTITUTE. During the past week about 170 seamen made use or the Seamen's Institute. A concert party, under th© direction of Miss Cowan, of Christchurch, entertained a number of seafaring men at the Institute on Christmas Day. Refreshments were provided by the United Ladies' Guild. After the entertainment short addresses were given by the local sailors' missioner, also Mr and Mrs Cummings, Australian Home Missioners, and the Rev. W. T. Todd. Some excellent vocal solos wore contributed by Mises Hatchwell and Clark, and Mr Rankin, and Mr C. Mazey, jun., gave a violin solo. Each seaman present received a Christmas comfort bag. On Boxing Day an enjoyable seamen's picnic was held at Diamond Harbour.
