FOOTBALL.

"WALES v. NEW ZEALAND. (By Caoie.—Press Association. —Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Gable Association.) LONDON, December 26. Thirty-five thousand people _ watched the New Zealand-Wales match, which was played at Swansea in a slight drizzle. Many New Zealand officers were present, including General Stewart. Great cheering greeted the All Blacks on their appearance on the field. The game throughout war? fast, open, and spectacular, resolving itself into a dual between tho New Zealand aggressive forward attacks, mostly dribbling and excellent foofcworjs, and the superb, tricky, Welsh back play. The Welsh forwards got most possession of tho ball and handled it better than the New Zealanders. At half-time there was no score. Insufficient policing permitted crowds to invade the field, necessitating several stoppages. In the second half, {after a splendid passing rush, in which nearly all tho Welsh backs took a hand, Wales scored ttt the corner, the scorer brushing against spectators. The try was not converted. The i'few Zealanders mad© tremendous efforts to equalise matters, and maintained a strong attack on the Welsh lines. A great passing bout between Brown, Taurei, MoNaught, Brow?, and Cockroft ended in the last-named just failing by inches to score under the poets. The game was truly memorable, although hardly equal to that of past international standards. Storey, O'Brien, and McNaugfct were the beet of the New Zealand hacks, and Wilson, Fogaity, Moffit, and SeUara of the forward division.
