SOLDIERS AND SAILORS.

LONDON, December 7. Lord Selborne, Lord Milner, and Mr A. Fisher and others associated with the overseas sailor and soldier scholarship fund, have issued -an appeal for wider support, especially from business houses which have branches in or intimato trading relations with the Dominions."

In 15 months, with £12,000 raised by private l subscriptions the fund has allotted to invalid officers and men of the overseas forces 54 scholarships at the universities and schools in the' United Kingdom. They vary in animal value from £150' to £250 each.

The applications which are constantly being received have far outrun the present resources of the fund.
