RED CROSS SOCIETY.
NO MOKE APPEALS FOR FUNDS. A Bpecial meeting of the executive of the Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Branch of the British Bed Croee Society waa held on Friday, there being pxeeebt Mr J. A. Fleeher (chairman), Mesdames Boyle, Wigram, H. H. Smith, Cyrus Williams, Messrs H. J. Beewick, A. E. G. Bliodes, P. L. Hallenstein, Bowker, jun., Baty, AT. J. Gresson, H. P. M. Berry, and Hon. J. A. Borthwick. The chairman explained that the meeting was called for the purpose of receiving the report of the proceedings at the meeting of the Dominion~Ex«rutive held at Government House, Wellington, on Wednesday last. Mr Greaeon reported fully on the proceedings at the meeting. After iully discussing the -whole position, io was resolved that Red Croes Branches be advised that until further instructed by tho executive, 110 appeals be made for funca for Red Cress purposes. The question of "the operations of branches otherwise was left over for further consideration at a meeting of the New Zealand Red Croes Council, which' will bo held in Christchureh early in February.
