CASUALTIES.
Mr TV. JT. Jonkin met with a nasty accident on Tuesday. He was hurry- ; iug past the Commercial Bbnk in Hereford street at about 2. o'clock in the aftenioon when a depression in the pavement caused him to stumble; and ,he fell, sprainiqg his ankle rather badly. After' being given attention he was taken to his home. - 1 A man, whose name is stated to be Jack Gilboy, a bootmaker, between 40 and 45 years of-age, residing in St. Asaph street, was admitted to Iht hospital yesterday in an unconscious state suffering from a fractured skull. Last evening he was reported to hare ' recovered consciousness. It is alleged that Gilbov and a cab-driver «m tho rank neartho Excelsior Hotel had ' J,few words with each other, and then - pushed his open hand face and Gilboy fell back* Va ™s, striking his head on the path.-\r\-iL— Te "?^ ar named George aJo with his parents at ■/ .avenue, whilst bird-nesting - 'A? * Worth Park yesterday afternoon, fell from a fir tree 40ft high and sustained a broken thigh and a broken ann- Ho was conveyed to the hospital, where he was making favourable progress last evening.
