CORRESPONDENCE.
THE COMING PEAOE. . TO THE EDITOR OF "THE FBESS." Sir, —It is to bo hoped that the coming peaco celebrations will first and foremost take the form of widespread thanksgiving services in every town and village in Now Zealand. Our national thankfulness and gratitude to the God of our fathers should make it a day our children will ever remember. Could not tho ministers of every district, large or. small, unite in arranging local thanksgiving services to be held in a selected church, hall, or park on a date fixed by the Government, and there publicly own our gratitude for the favour shown to our nation ? A large meeting in the big towns only will not meet the case. Thousands cannot attend there, but the grateful hearts of the women especially, in the smaller districts, would delight in joining in local services. It is to bo hoped our joy will not bo of the wild "Mafficking" sort, but will show a deeper appreciation of the times wo live in. Let it go forth to the world that our belief in the over-ruling providence of God is not unreal, but i s a vital part of our national soul. The Christian Church must not let this duty slip: she owes it to the world. Let the light shine. "Praise is comely.'"
" —Yours, ■etc., BE READY.
