CORRESPONDENCE.
»— . PHICE OF MILE. TO THE EDITOR OF "THE FBESS." Sir, —I «as rather amused when 1 read a letter regarding above signed by "Interested." To mo it 6eems as though "Interested" has a very vague idea of the milk business, and gets very much tangled in regard to the difference between wholesaler and retailer. "Interested" has an idea that the wholesaler or producer, in charging lOd per gallon for milk, is exploiting the public. 'Just lot mo point out for his information : The producer is placed in the position of having to pay very L largo rents or interests on property, provide cows, feed, labour, works all hours in all weathers —price lOd per gallon for this. Tho retailor simply gets his supply from farm, provides liorso and cart ,for delivery—say, 40 gallons—and charges for delivery lOd per gallon. The rosult is receipts 33s 4d, less, say, 5s per day for upkeep of horse —equal to £1 Ss 4d per di»y of fivo to sis hours. Not bad pay, eh? In face of this will "Interested" still believo the producer is having all his own way?— Yours, etc.,H. BLISS, jun. No bad affcer-effectg with WADE'S WORM FIGS. Wonderful Worm Worriers. Price Is 6d. 2
