-V XAVY LEAGUE'S APPEAL. A meeting of tho committee in charge of the arrangements for the effort to be msie shortly in the port in connexion with the Navy League's War Fund appeal held last evening at tho Borough Council Chambers, tho Mayor, Mr W. Loster, presiding. It waa decided to hold a combined jumb'e salo and Paddy's Market on November »thj and to a<& iiio assistance of various tociai and sports clubs and other ' institutions in Lyttelton. Messrs L. A. Stringer and \7. .brown wcro appointed secretary and treasurer respectively.
