Dotted here and tnere in Cathodral square were attractive stalls, over the counters of which, goods and money flowed freely on benalt of the cause. following is a list of stalls and stallholders :—.Produce, Mesuames P. J. Overtou and F. M. Davie; cake. Lady Denmston and Mesdames 11. Malco.iu and T. G. R. Blunt; variety, Mesdames Wytas, Foster, Dougali, ana Mountfort, and Aliss'Jiandel; flowers, Mes da trios J. G. Wilson and ii. W. Anderson, and Miss Wilson; sweets, Misses Ferguson, Vvarner, T. Reading, Munro, and Bennett ; books and cnina, Women's -No- ] tional Reserve; cheques, Mr id. Hoidon. j Miss Harris had charge of tho raffles. A "camouflage dip" in connexion with, the variety sta.ii was in charge of Miss Relene Cross, and proved very successful. Mrs C. J. Treleaven, assisted by Miss Lewis-Bishop, Mrs M. G. Louisson, and Airs J. S. Neville, had charge of a stall from which were retailed chiefly fancy articles of woodwork, made and presented by Mr R. C. B shop. Captain Oolonna's periscope was exhibited in a tent near the Cathedral A number of prominent performers, under the direction of Mr D. Schloes, gave entertainments on a platform outside the United Service Hotel, and drew large crowds. The headquarters of tho effort were at the Chamber of Commerce, whero Messrs H. S. Batchelor, H. J. Marriner, and W\ J. Neate presided at "the receipt of custom." Airs Hamilton issued badges, the issuing of permits was done by Mre J. B. Laurenson, Mr F. H. liowler, and Misses Taylor and F. White, and Mrs C. G. l>algety was in charge of tho dispensing of refreshments to workers. Squads of American and British sailors, and the Sumner lifeboat and crew, very materially assisted the effort, while members of tho Harbour Light (Jlub did good work in collecting. At midday the Mayor (Mr H. Holland) mad© a speech from th© lifeboat on behalf of the fund, and read the message announcing the entry of the British Navy into the Dardanelles, which created much enthusiasm. Mr A. Boyle also spoke.
