Now, however, when so many of the boys had returned and the prospects of an early peace looked bright, it was felt that the council should resume its activities, so that it might be able to give the future generations of cricketers cricket of as high a standard as it was possible to expect after the happenings of the last four years. A series of studies of soldiers' feet and the proper fittinz of boots has been completed by a special staff of officers and expert bootmakers, under the direction of the Surgeon-General of the United States Army.
