Cloud (0-10) .. ..3 8 The readings taken at the Ashburton Domain weather station at 9 a.m. yesterday were:—Barometer 29.58, thermometer —maximum 60, minimum 45. SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Northerly winds have prevailed, and freshened generally. The barometer has fallen everywhere, and cloudiness lias increased. Considerable rain ia now reported on the West Coast of the South Island. Present indications are for northerly and westerly winds, strong to gale, cbangihg to southerly. Expect cloudy and unsettled weather, with rain following generally, snow on the higher levels, rivers flooded in Weatland and Otago, and the barometer falling everywhere, but rising in the South in about 20 hours.
