SHIPPING- NOTES. Mr J. Wells has joined tho Kini as second engineer in place of Mr S. Head, who has signed off the vessel's articles. Mr J. it. Owen, late master of tho iluia, has signed on the Maori «a third officer. The Corona is expected here this afternoon from New Plymouth to load again for northern ports, sailing probably to-morrow. The auxiliary schoonor Houto is expected to arrive here shortly from tha north. She will load produoe here for Kaipara. Mr B.' Rice has joined the Mararoa assistant purser, replacing Mr Fookes, wild has signed on tho Rosamond. The auxiliary Bohooner May Howard proceeded under .her own power to tbo beach at Purau yeeterday, where she will have her rudder post taken of! preparatory to having a new one fitted. The slip is not at present available for the work; being occupied by the Cygnet. It ia hoped to have the To Anau ready for despatch with general cargo from Auck-, land 'to-day. Tho vessel will call at l>yU telton, Timaru, and Bluff, returning thence to Napier and Auckland. An expected arrival in port to-day is the Orepuki, from Groymouth, via Timaru. She will load general cargo here to-day and will probably sail to-night for the West Coast. The Storm's return to this port is expected on Saturday. She is coming from Wang,mui, and will load here for Timaru and Dunedin for* which porta she will probably be despatched on Saturday night. The Monowai should reach Wellington tomorrow from Auckland. She will remain m Wellington until Friday, sailing that day for Lyttelton. and Dunedin. The coastal steamer Wootton arrived here yesterday with cargo from Wellington. She will probably depart for tho north to-night. The Kamona, laden with coal from Greymouth, reached Lyttelton yesterday afternoon. She will discharge here and return to tho West Coast.
