SPRgYDON SCHOOL COMMITTEE. At the monthly meeting of the Spreydon School Committee the headmaster reported that the roll number was 224, and the average attendance 178. A letter was reoeived from the Education Board intimating that Miss Ellis was giving up her position. On thp motion of Mr Wills, it was agTeed to fiend a letier expressing appreciation of Mias Ellis's past services. Mr Routley, a member of the committee, sent in his resignation owing to removal to tho North Island. Ihe resignation waa accepted with regret, and Mr E. Gott was elected to fill the vacancy. Messrs W. Fenuer and J. Mulcock were uppointed a visiting committee. ~ BURGESSES' ASSOCIATION. A well-attended meeting of the "aimairi and Weofc Brighton Burgesses' Association was held on. "Saturday, Mr A. R. Blank presiding. Correspondence was reoeived from the New Brighton Borough Council, stating that it favoured the introduction of a scheme for the formation of all remaining roads in the northern portion of the borough. After discussion, it was decided to support the idea and aek the Council to take the neceesary poll at the earliest possible date. Freeman, who supplied the plane, was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
