(SPECIAL TO "THE PnBSS.") WELi-liSGI'ON, July 23. The Wellington share market is strong; that i 9 to say, there is apparently a roo! demand for certain groups of shares, which indicates that there is money for such investment, bht tho shares are not readily obtainable, consequently the volume of business doing is very small. Share investments as j now desired are of • temporary character, I for thoy are only eoucfat because, as the war continues, further advances in values will bo recorded, and they could bo turned over at a profit. The bulk of this money would probably be available for investment in the next issue of war bonds. Some investors are turning their attention to municipal and Harbour .ooard debentures, which aro in demand at prices that will yield a clcar 5 per cent. _ Such securities. however, aro held principally by insurance companies, who are not likely to tell at present prices, which would mean a loss to them.

The Trust formed in connexion with the P. and O. deferred otock given in connexion with the acquisition of the Union Steam Ship Company's fleet ia getting to work, and brokers anticipate doing a fair business in this stock as soon as the Trust is fully established.
