WAR IN THE AIR.
(Australian ancj N.Z. Association,; (Router's Telegrams.) (Received July 23rd, 11.25 p.m.) LONDON, July 23. Tho Air Ministry reports: — "Wo dropped a ton of bombs on railway sidings and lines. "Wo attackod the Badische aniline factory. Good bursts were observed; a largo explosion being caused in the factory. "Wo bombed three aerodromes. Out low fliers hit five trains and bombed and machine-gunned searchlights and antiaircraft guns. All our machines returned. "Wo attackod on Monday an important powder factory at liottwell, hitting a big shed with good results. Several other sheds blew up. The fire thus caused was seen CO miles away. All our machines returned."
Sir Douglns Haig reports:— "Low clouds on Sunday almost prevented flying, but on a small part;of the front various targets wero bombed, including a railway station. A direct hit was obtained on an ammunition train. Five hostile machines wert brought down and four British ones arc missing. . "Our night fliers were able to carry out raids along the greater part of the front. We dropped 13 tons of bombs on railways at Seclin, Men in, Lille, and Canibrai."
