" OUR DAY " APPEAL.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the "Our Day" Committee of tlio Rod Cross Fund was held yesterday afternoon, Mr J. A. Flcsher presiding. It was decided to add to the committee tho presidents and chairmen of local. Red Croe3 Committees, and also Messrs C. J. R. Williams, C. W. Beid, A. C. Rcid. and M. J. Miller. Mr G. L. Donaldson reported concerning' the cjjarts and posters it was proposed to uao in connexion with the Copper Trail. A hug© clock would be erected showing the progress being mad© by Otago and by Canterbury. and a large map would • show how the trail was progressing in each province. Tho chairman said that in England on© day in tie year was sot apart by the churches for Red Cross collections, and by this means about £270,000 had been raised. It wsb thought that it would not bo -out oi plaoo to ask the local churches to set aside ono day for tho same purpose between August Ist and October 16th.
