OPERA HOUSE. The heavy rain did not prevent a large audience from attending the Opera House last evening. The very line marionette enter* tainmunt of Graham and Graham was greatly appreciated. ' Miss Nellie Koile added further to her firmly established popularity with her catchy choma songs, while her singing of "I'he 'JL'rumway Copper Trail" song reflated in a further highly satisfactory augmentation of the fund to assist which tho song was ,published. Ley wood and Nurell .(comedy sketch couple), Fred Webber (the musical College' boy), and Phil Percival (comedian and pianist) were also very well received. The same programme will be given this evening. CRYSTAL PALACE. The new programme at Crystal Palace is proving highly popular, and there were good a Honda, not s at all the eceeione _ yesterday. Dustin Farnum and Winifred Kingston are both irresistible in the star film, a William Fox six-reeJ production, entitled "Durand of the Bad Lands," which is as exciting and as fascinating as could be wished far. Further instalments of "Who is Number One?" and "Bo Children Count?" and the latest "Cine* ma uuiette" complete a first-rate programme. The singing of Mr Farquhar Young, and tho selections - of the orchestra were again much enjoyed last night. The programme will be repeated to-day. QUEEN'S THEATRE. Mary, Miles Minter is as delightful as everj in "Chanty Castle," tho Mutual photo-play which heads the bill at the Queen's Theatre this week. The picture is a highly enter*, taining one, and is splendidly mounted. Another episode in "The Lass of the Lumberlands," a Mustang drama, "A Modern Knight," and a comedy, "A Gay Blade's last Escapade," ore also included in the programme, which, will be repeated to-day and this evening. EVERYBODY'B THEATRE. A fine' Pathe feature film, "Stranded in Aroady," starring Mrs Vernon Castle, is proving a big attraction at Everybody's this week. The story is an exciting one, and tee me with all kinds of hair-raising situations. Amongst the 'supporting films - are another instalment of "The Mystery of the Double Cross," and a Topical Gazette. The same piotureo wiU bo shown to-day. LIBERTY THEATRE. "The Gown of.Destiny," & Triangle photo* .ay, is the chief item on this week's pro.amme at the Liberty Theatre. The film is i® which should particularly interest the j in tier eex, for |t shows some really wonder* j1 dress creations, while the intensely patrioc theme of the picture would star the .heart •f the greatest slacker. There are a number of first-olaee pictures in support of "The own of Mystery." The whole progranuno .•ill be repeated to-day. STRAND THEATRE. Considerable interest was shown by Star.nd patrons yesterday in a niLitary Secret Service drama, featuring Mr Winter Hall, a former Christchurch resident.
