In each of the following cases judgment was given for the plaintiff by default: —Alexander McLean v. J. "VV. Kingsland, £'20 15s 4d; Massey-Harris Co., Ltd. v. J. H. Head, £23 2s; Edgar Wilson v. Thomas Arthur Smith, £1 7s; Large and Allen v. Frederick W. Minchin, £1 2s; same r. John Sullivan, £3 3s 3d; F. Walker v. Henry James Taylor, £3 los 6d; Maliug and Co., Ltd. v. E. \7. Harris, £30 6s 7d; same v. George Barakat, £37 0s 7d: samo v. C. Scott, £24 18s; same v. G. H. Price, £2 ISs lOd; F. W. Keen v. Frederick Rose, £3 lis lOd. RESERVED JUDGMENT. Reserved judgment was delivered in the case of A. J. Burley and Co. (Mr J. "Williams), motor-car proprietors, Reefton, v. Albert Robert Green (Mr H. D. Acland), taxi proprietor, of Christelmrch, in which plaintiff sought to recover tho sum of £65. amount alleged duo on certain motor tyres, and defendant counter-claimed for £28 4s, allegedly due for services rendered. The Magistrate struck a balance .between the rival claims, and gave judgment for plaintiff for £6 is. A VALUABLE DOG. William Henry Conway (W. Gordon), farmer, of Kirwee, claimed £10 from T. Ballan (Mr Flesher), farmer, Manchester street, on the grounds that in March last defendant, while driving a motor-car y near Kirwee, ran over and killed a dog valued 'at the ' amount claimed. Judgment for the amount claimed, with costs, was given for the plaintiff.
