Millen, Vice-President of the Executive Council, estimated tlio war expenditure of the Commonwealth to June of this vear at £214,880,673. of which £2-5.834,916 wi'l be paid out of revenue, and £189,405,757 out of loans. The annual interest will amount to £8,747,214 COAL FOR VICTORIA. MELBOURNE, January 23. j The State Government has arranged with the New South Wales Government for the supply of 200,000 tons of coal annually for two years. FLOODS IN QUEENSLAND. BRISBANE, January 23. All the rivers in Central Queensland are rising, threatening serions flooßs. Mackay is isolated. SETTLERS IN PERIL. (Received January 23rd, 9.35 p.m.) • BRISBANE, January 23. The floods are extending. Roekhampton is isolated, and traffic is suspended. Anxiety is felt as to the fate of many settlers. Boats have been despatched to their assistance.
