Supreme efforts will be made during the next few days to settle "the l/islv question. AMERICA'S ATTITUDE OUTLINED. ("The Times.") (Received January 23rd, 0.30 p.m.) LONDON, January 22. The Washington . correspondent w "The Times," in an' important despatch, states that President Wilson has informed Mr Balfour (Foreign Minister) of the vital bearing of the Irish problem on America's war efforts. The correspondent adds: "America no longer regards the question as a British one, but as one deeply affecting tho whole of the civilised world. "Even official circles strongly feel that in the event of the Convention collapsing, tho Government must accept the majority report, and enforce it upon the minority. "The United States is eager to assist generously in the establishment of industries in Ireland if she is given similar autonomy to the colonies. "Congress would vote a loan, of 100,000,000 dollars, and immense amounts of American capital would he invested in Irish industries."-
