4 RED CROSS FUND. CTJLVERDEN. At Culverden a fete was held recently in oid of the Red Cross "Our Day" funds with the gratifying' result that the sum of £23-1 10b 7d was forwarded to the Christchurch Centre for remittance to England. During the same week, the Tramway Cbmedy Troupe gave an entertainment in aid of the local Red Cross funds for carrying on the work. The entertainment, which was given in the Culverden Town Hall, was excellent, and xe- | suited in the sum of £33 2s lid being raised, j Notwithstanding the additional labour in- - volvcd in organising and running the fete, ! the consignment of garments sent np to the i Central Depot was as large as usual, and a parcel of 43 garments and some hundreds of sundries and surgical requisites woe forwarded on November Bth. Tho donations, for the month included the proceeds of a social, £5 16s 6d, £5 received for the sale of a eheep given by Mr A. Fisher, and a gift of £10 • from the Hanmer Red Cross Branch. ; The Mayor of Woolston acknowledges re- , ceipt of the following amounts collected for the Red Cross Fund on Guy Fawkes Day:— Two little girls (Thelma Ransley and Rosie Davis) 7s lOd, and three little boys (Frank and lien.
