ALIENS IN OUR MIDST.

to tub sorros or "the pbiss." Sir, —It was with relief that I read in this morning's "Pross" that the people of Auckland were beginning to look with approhonsion -on the large alien population in their midst, feeling that it was likely to bo a menace to society in the future, as in timo these aliens will bo in tho majority. I dunapprove utterly, however, of the suggestion that they should be conscripted and sont to the front with our reinforcements, thus causing danger to their comrades in arms, for if a man is worth his salt, he will never be a traitor to his own country, but I do think that this matter should bo looked into very seriously by the Government.
