CONCERT AT RED CLIFFS. A oonoort was held in tlio Rcdclifls schoolroom, when thero was a largo attendance, the proceeds being in aid of the school funds. An excellent program mo was given by tho scholars under the direction of the teaching stall. Mr G. Daltry and choir wero present from Christchurch and assisted with a programme of choruscs and songs. Tho. total proceods amounted to £9 la 6d. RAILWAY SICK BENEFIT SOCIETY. At tho half-yearly meeting of the Railway Employees' Union Sick Benefit Society, held oti Monday, Mr 31. Cr. Wildermotii presided. Tho balance-sheet ehowed a surplus of £114 Os Id. tho receipts having been J8522 3a lOd, and tho expenditure £408 3a 3d.. Tho liabilities were £44 4s 2d. Mr H. Burroll waa reelected to the committee, ajid appointed collector for tho Department. WOOLSTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE. At the monthly meeting of tho Wools ton School Committee all tho member® were procent. Th« headmaster (Mr West) roported l thit the averago attendance was COO out of a roll of GGO. A sub-committeo was appointed to devise tho best method of raising funds in aid of a roll of honour. The Canterbury Caledonian Society .held iia fortnightly gathering in tho Society's hall last night, ther© being an excellent attendance. Mr C. S. Thomas, tho president, was in the chair, supported by Messrs G. Ritchie and W. Fraser, vico-presidente. lu his opening remarks the president referred to tho doatha of Private W. Alien and Lieut. Prod. Anderson, killed in action in France, both of whom were valued members of tho Society. The Pipe Band played a lament in memory of tho deceased. Tlio programme of tho concert was a varfod and interesting one, ond much appreciated. A pipe nelcct ion waß given by Piper J. Erskino, songs by Miss Duncan, ond Mcarra Thorn and B. Wilson, an Irish jig by Miss E. Turner, dnnco by Miss Beumelberff, reel by Misses Clark and Mcintosh, and Maet=r3 Clark and Mcintosh, and conjuring by Messrs Parson and r«ichoison*

PJEDCLIPFS SCHOOL COMMITTEE. . The monthlv meeting of tho .ncdclifls School Committee was held last night. Present—Mr B. Kiley (chairman), MeesrS G. .T Scott, G. H. Woods. A. Holden, and W. C* Bishop. The headmaster's report stated that tbo roll number was 92, with an average attendance o! 82. A vote ol thanks waa panged to Messrs Scott and Trusooti for generously providing . football material for the bovs. A hearty vote of thanks waa passed to the teaching staff and tho scholars for helping to make the recent concert eucli a great success, oljbo to Mr J. ,H. Peek for his services, and- to Mr G. Daltry and choir for their generosity in coming to Redcliffs and giving a programme of part songs nnd solos. A hearty vote of thanks wm also passed to the ladies of the district, who assisted in providing refreshments. The renjgnation of the caretaker wan received, and it was decided to advertise for applications for the position. NORTH BRIGHTON BCRGESSES* ASSOCIATION. The quarterly meeting of the North New Brighton Burgesses' Association was held liifit night, Mr Gilbert Burnjj presiding over a, good cttendance. The Mayor of New Brighton (Mir E l . Kibblewhite) was present by invitation. It was decided to ask the Tramway Board to make the fare ono penny from any part of North Brighton from Racecourse road to the pier, inclusive, and to inako a stop at Tonka street in place of the present one at Mr. Coatcs'a houao. On Mr Green's motion, it waa agreed to ajk the school committee to have the lupins and undergrowth cut down in the trrounds of' the North Beach sido school. With regard to street lighting', the secretary stated that he understood that there would be <1 string of lights running through the Domain from the Grantlev street entrance to Nelson street. The Mayor advised tho Association to soc that all new lamps were put in the position dt-3ired. It «a» decidcd to ask the Tramway Board to run tho 31.10 ear from ihe city every evening instead of on Friday nights only, this to Tefcr to both Ibo No. 5 and No. 10 ears. Mr Tjeavor was appointed to interview Mr J. A. Flegher regarding tho matter of the North iieoch line getting its full credit as a revenue producer. It was agreed to call the attention of the committee to the accumulation of sand on Itaoecourso road. Complaints were made a» tho unsatisfactory state of the tram rails in Bowhill road. Mr Strahan moved, "That in view of the near approach of the summer season that the Borough Council be asked fo provide' conveniences for wimea at North Boacb. Advantage was talcen of tho Mavor being present to discuss tho question of the subdivision and leasing of the reserve, and itwas unanimously decided to support the scheme.
