A Berlin messago states that six Swedish vessels, tho Paulino, Cyrez. Erik, Thereso,. Kooll, and Olga were sunk in the Gulf of .Bothnia. Over 50 per ccnt. of their cargocs wero contraband. AUSTRIAN SUBMARINE SUNK. TORPEDOED BY FRENCH. ROME, Juno 3. A French submarine torpedoed anil sank an Austrian submnrino leaving Cattaro, in tho Adriatic Sea. AN ENEMY SCHEME. SUBMARINE"BASE OFF VENEZUELA. WASHINGTON, Juno 8. The Statb Department has notified tho Presidcut of Venezuela. General Juan Viconto Gomez, that iGoruiany is endeavouring to purchaso tho island of Margarita for tho purposo of a submarine base. The island of Margarita has an area of 450 6quaro miles, and is situated in tho Caribbean Sea. It is tho centre of pearl fisheries off tho coast of Venezuela.
