In only very few cases have growers to accopt less than maximum Government price.
Oats —Tho market is very firm, but owing to the North Island having imported heavily from Australia during tho past few months, buyers there aro for the present independent of the southern markets, and are not disposed to do forward business at the the southern merchants' quotations, especially as contracts for further shipments from Australia ai*e still current, and it is not definitely certain that further shipments of oats cannot be made from Australian ports.
