WAR TAXATION.
(vnzss ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.)
DCNEDIN, Juno 1. The Otago Branch of t/;o New Zealand Society of Accountants carried a resolution that tho taxation required by the Gcvcrnment fsr war purposes should be in tho form of an additional or special tax, graduated on the same lines as the ordinary incomo tax. The experience of the past year confirmed the opinion of tho members that the system of an excess profits tax was inequitable, and in its application to different businesses gave riso to many anomalies and frequent injustices. A deputation will wait on Sir Joseph Ward on liis return.
