TEE CAUSE OF INDIGESTION
Much valuable information may be gleaned from a somewhat lengthy medical report just published. For instance, it is made clear that more than 90 per cent, of all cases of indigestion, dyspepsia, etc., are due to tho presence of acid in the stomach, and physicians agreo that when this fact is realised by tlio public they will bo called upon to treat vesy few cases of stomach trouble, and the causo of tho trouble —the acid in tho stomach —may readily bo overcome without their aid. Ai effective preparation for this purpose is «aid to be bisurated magnesia, and they advise those who are troubled with almost any form of digostivo trouble to obtain a small quantity of this product from their chemist, and take half-a-teaspoon-ful in a little water after meals, as this will prevent fermentation and neutralise any acid which may ho formed), thus rendering tho food easy of digestion. Certainly this plan seems preferable to dosing the stomach with drugs. 686
