TO THE EDITOR OF "THE TRESS." Sir, —With reference to your leading article in "Tho Press" to-day ou the attitude of the nowsnapeis of the world to the Mar, von will perhaps I" interested to lenrn that tbe chairniai of my Association, ot tho 1916 annua* meeting (held in February), pointed out that the British authorities had then spent £600,000 in advertising; in connexion with recruiting (Kitchener s Army was chiefly raised by this means), war loans, and the thrift campaign. Sir Hedley lo Bas was called in to organise the advertising services for " 10 ■ authorities and he was. it is understood, knighted in recognition of his work. Members of my Association hare been advised of the position, and tno advisability of conserving every possible sheet of paper.—Yours, etc., L. J. BERR\. Secretary..
