Mr Bonar Law announces that tho new vote of credit to bo asked for on Wednesday is expcctcd to bo for £500,000,000. making tho total vote? £4,642,000,000. PROTECTED OCCUPATIONS. AN AGREEMENT REACHED. "LONDON, May 0. It is officially announced that as a result of Mr Arthur Henderson's conferences with the delegates of tho Amalgamated Socicty of Engineers, an agreement has been reached in connexion with the schedule of protected occupations. Adequate protection for skilled men and apprentices has been secured, and the delegates undertake to that there be no stoppage of work. VOLUNTARY RATIONING. GREAT CAMPAIGN IN PROGRESS. LONDON, May 6. A great campaign is in progress throughout Great Britain in favour ot voluntary rationing. Many towns arc pledged to obey tho King's injunctions. Captain Bathurst has withdrawn his resignation ag Assistant-Food Controller.
