A fully at tended meeting of the Sheffield Patriotic Committee, presided over by Mr tt\ ,f. .Jenkins, was held iiv the Itoad Board office on Thursday. Correspondence was received from Privates It. AYatsor, A. Miller, and D. Cooke, acknowledgiris parcels they had received from the Patriotic Committee. A? a result of tKe da.nec held in the hill on Show Xight, the Red Qrosa, Fund will benefit to the extent of £10. It was dccided to write thanking-'Miss Mcllraith and Messrs Millar and Qitail'c for go generously supplying: the miwic. The treasurer reported that there was a credit bitlatice of £328 13s 8d in the bank, and accounts to the extent of £I*2 17s id were parsed for payment. The secretary was instructed to thank Mr Raphael and his party for their concert, and atao Mr Dvsart,- of Kiiwee, for 60 kindly providing a sewing machine for Red Cross work. Mr TV. Watson was aleo thanked for having ploughed the memorial section. It was announced that Miss Freeman, of Christchnrch. would give an address on Red Cross work in tli; Road Board office, Sheffield, to-morrow. It was proposed that an autograph quilt be made for presentation to the Hospital for Now Xoalanders in London. It was decided that competitive designs be callcd for next meeting. and a chargc of Is be made for cach autiyyrHph. Mr TV.' J. .Jenkins intimated that preparations were well in hand for a garden party, !•> bo held at his residence. Fairview, Wnddineton._ on Thursday' afternoon. Tho proceeds will go to the bandage claw.
