The first machino to be used at Sockbura school is shown in an excellent engraving in tho coming issue of the '-Weekly Press." Anzac Day was celebrated at Little River in a thorough manner, and a photograph taken at too memorial service is also reproduced in the same paper, which has a number of snapshots obtained at Thursday s meeting of the New Brighton Trotting Club. Several pictures from England and tho front are given of New Zealand soldiers, and these includc wounded at King George's Hospital, oonvalescente cheering the 2s cw Zealand football team, despatch riders in winter clothing, and a group of majors who were invited by the King to assist in representing the 3>ominion at the opening of j Parliament. Repeated cable messages j have made reference to the enthusiasm | displayed in England in raising the last | war loan, and that the statements were i not overdrawn is borne out by illustra- | tions appearing in our contemporary. There has also been published a statement of the boundaries of the new area in which tho Germans are submarining anything they can find to fire on. The great extent of this area and the difference between it and the one in which operations were originally conducted are show at a glance in a map published in the pictorial pages of the ''Weekly Press," a map. tco, which incidentally Gusgests the formidable task imposed Allied navies in suppressing the sea piratea.
