SIR JOHN HALL SHIELD
The Sir John Hall Life-saving shield competition will bo held at the Tepid Batlis this evening at 8 o'clock. Parents and tho public will be admitted to the baths on the ordinary admission tickct. ~*—- Thrce teams will compete—ono from tho Boys' High School niid two from tho Normal School. The judges will bo Messrs F. L: Collins, B. S. Knox, C. Bryant, and K, Bassett. TAYLOR'S MISTAKE CLUB. Tho committee of the Taylor's Mistake Life-savin;; Club met on Monday at the Tepid Baths. Present —Messrs A. Barnett (chairman), J. "Withers, A. Dow, R. Thompson. F. Hobson, T. Hobson, A. Nixon, G. Pearce, X. Ha::ell, and H. J. Ballin. Correspondence was read from the Sumner Borough Council regarding suitable dressing eheds to bo erected on the beach beforo next summer. The secretary reported that the timber lor limn" tho pavilion, presented by tho president (Mr F. Kesteven), was now over at Taylor's Mistake, and tho work would be proceeded with at once. Votes of thanks for contributions to the club were accorded to Messrs M&hony, G. Sovicke Jones, and A. Donaldson. It was decided to write to the Sumner Borough Council, asking for a 2o years' lease of the land on which the paviliou stands. Twelvo now members were elected.
