The fifth Summer Conference of the Young Women's Christian Association of New Zealand will open in Cliristehureh on January 4th, and close on January 14th. Owing to present conditions and the necessity for economy, it hirs been decided to hold the Conference in Christchureh at the local Association's rooms, Latimer Square, where board can !>o obtained at lowest possible rates, instead, of, as formerly, in some scchided mountain or seaside resort. Delegates from Auckland, Wellington, D'unedin, and Inrereurgil] will be boarded at the Y.W.C.A. Hostel, and meetings and services wi«l held in the Choral Hall. The Conference will bo under the leadership of Miss Helen F. Barnes, M.A., National Secretary for Australasia, and among: the speakers and teachers will bo the Uev. Evan Harries, of, Timaru ; Mrs Begg, and Mrs A. Kayo. The programme will include Bible and Mission studios, and a Technical 'Hour, in ■which tho history, policy, and methods of the Y.W.C.A. will be discussed. For the afternoons, rcerei.tion and sports arc planned, while vesper services and addresses will fill tho evening, followed by short "good-night" talks for each delegation. An attractive programme is also being planned for girls under 20, under the leadership of "Miss Mary A. Croddes, National Secret.',Ty, Girls' 3>epartment, including a Bible study conducted by Miss Marjories Black, secretary of the Girls' Department, Dunedin, and a student of the last Training School, Sydney.
