French communique says-A— ''The enemy is bombarding bur positions found Monastir. ''Fresh counter-attacks upon the Serbian positions on the northern slopes of the Sokol succeeded in carrying «, portion of the recently captured height. "South of Scre3 the British cleared a i'urkisb. trench and brought back prisoners." • THE SERBIAN ADVANCI. "•LONDON, December.7. ' The "Daily Telegraph's" Salonica correspondent states that pursuing their advantage north of Grunista, the Serbians crossed the river Grazeshnitza. Though the weather was most unfavourable the- Serbians did not cease activo operations for a single day. Aftor attacks, extending for six days and nights, a final desperate assault carried the whole series of stronglyfortified heights, the Bulgarians and Germans flying in disorder, leaving seven guns and rnany prisoners. The total guns captured is now seventy-nine. A DIFFICULT LINE. laONDON, December 7. •Mr Ward Price says: —!'We must remember that the Allies in the Balkans are holding a front 250 miles long, which is more difficult than that of any other theatre of war, and that the Allied offensivo is being carried out by forces much inferior to those of the enemy."
